Why not just use BAND or TeamApp
The moment a student is enrolled, their parents are in that class's hub. The moment they withdraw, their parents are out, unless a sibling is still enrolled, in which case they stay. Swap the teacher and the new one is added. Turn on Create a hub for every new class and you never even make the group. Compare that with a BAND or Facebook group, where someone has to invite each family by hand and nobody ever remembers to remove the ones who've left.
A Facebook chat or TeamApp group run by a parent is invisible to the studio until something goes wrong. Here, All activity shows every post and comment across every class, newest first, and search finds "recital" in a post or in the name of the PDF attached to it.
Turn approval on and parent posts wait for you first, oldest first. Edit first fixes a phone number that shouldn't be public before it goes live. Remove anything, and it stays in the record marked removed.
On the studio's side
Is anything waiting on me? Posts held for approval, oldest first, with approve, edit-first and reject on each. Is anything going wrong? Hubs that have gone quiet for 30 days, and families enrolled in a class but not yet in its hub, with one button to add them all.
Four tiles across the top show posts, comments, reactions and RSVPs this week against last, so you can tell whether the Hub is picking up or fading without reading a report.
What goes in a hub
Notices
Pin a post and it stays at the top of that hub however old it gets. One notice can go to every hub in a single click.
Events with RSVPs
A title, a time and a place. Members answer Going, Maybe or Can't make it in the card. Only you and the teacher see names.
Rehearsal tracks
MP3s play right in the feed. Video too. The costume photo and the term-dates PDF open where they should.
Bold, lists, links. That's it.
A hub post is a note to one class, read on a phone. No headings, colours or fonts to get lost in. Parents post plain text.
Reactions
One emoji per person, tap again to take it back. A way to say 'seen it' without twelve 'thanks!' comments.
Search that finds files
Searching 'recital' finds the post that shared recital-lineup.pdf, across every hub a member is in and only those.
Who sees what
One feed covering every child's classes, with a chip per child to narrow it. Each post says which class and which child it's for. A held post stays visible to its author, marked awaiting review, so it never looks like it failed.
Their class hubs appear automatically from the timetable. They post, add events and attach the rehearsal track themselves, from the same portal they mark rolls in.
Their own login, one feed across their classes, and a Next up card for the soonest event. Whether they can post is your call, and it goes through approval like a parent's.
Under-17s never get their own account. That rule is fixed and can't be switched off; they use a parent's login. Phone notifications are off until each person turns them on, per device, from the bell in the app.
Community Hub comes with My Class Manager. Groups create themselves, fill themselves from the roll, and clear out the families who've left, so you never manage a member list again.
